On 29th November 2024, at Ilia State University, the kick-off meeting of the NATO SPS Program project G-7552 “War on Geohazards in a Peaceful Caucasus – WAGER” was opened by the Chancellor of Ilia State University, Dr. Ketevan Darakhvelidze and H.E. the Ambassador of Italy in Tbilisi, Dr. Massimiliano D’Antuono.
Then, Prof. Giorgi Gvalia, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Elene Zhuravliova, Dean of the School of Natural Sciences and Medicine, Prof. Tea Godoladze, Director of the Institute of Earth Sciences and National Seismic Monitoring Center, and Prof. Alberto Godio, NATO Project Director, emphasised the relevance of the project for the topic and starting cooperation to be extended in future project calls.

The meeting ended at 18:30.
On 30th November 2024, some potential test sites were visited. This took the whole morning.
